7 Things — you don’t want to know about me!

January 26th, 2011 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

Probably should be 8 things, as here I am waaaay behind in my assignments.

But back to business, this post is for Kick Start Activity #2 of the Teacher Challenge. Here goes – 7 things you don’t want to know about me:

#7 Gardening stresses me out. I feel like it is part of the “librarian profile” but not for me. It’s not the dirt that bothers me…

#6 I started mountain biking at the age of 45 and would quite happily spend my time searching for dirt to put under my wheels.

#5 Particularly red dirt from Moab, Utah – here we had our best-ever family vacation. We rode our bikes next to dinosaur prints!

#4 My favorite smell, discovered on that vacation, is desert sage.

#3 My favorite food group is cookies. I am a very trustworthy person, but I am not to be trusted with the cookie jar.

#2 I became a librarian because I love the thrill of the hunt (for information).

#1 But my favorite position is that of mom to my two sons (aw, cute).

* Why did you join the Teacher Challenge’s 30 Days to Kick Starting your Blogging?
* Why do you want to learn more about blogging?
* What aspects of blogging have you struggled with?

I joined the Teacher Challenge to do just that – kick start my blogging. THE aspects I find most difficult are creating interesting posts and keeping the blog current. When I attempted blogging a while ago I found it very time consuming. I am hoping that the better I get at it, the less time it will take.

I would like to learn about blogging for two reasons. First, I have seen some nice school library blogs and can definitely see how they would be useful to the students and faculty. My goal is to create a useful, informative site for my visitors. Second, there are teachers at my school who are interested in blogging and I would like to be a resource for them if they need help.
